★ 2019 TOUR NEWS ★

Following sold-out dates at London’s Soho Theatre, Theatre503 and Old Red Lion Theatre, and at Assembly Hall in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, our show REALLY WANT TO HURT ME tours the UK from June-October 2019.

Flaming Theatre’s hit dark comedy with dance sequences features a classic ‘80s soundtrack of Culture Club, Eurythmics, Tears for Fears, The Smiths, Kate Bush and more. Its exploration of queer survival and self-discovery against all odds speaks directly to young LGBTQ people’s experiences today as well as to older generations.

Devon, 1984. Constant pressure to be straight and ‘masculine’ makes a schoolboy feel like he’s living in George Orwell’s 1984. School bullies. Teenage heartache. Hating yourself. Trying to tape the Top 40 off the radio without the DJ talking over the songs. Dancing defiantly to your Walkman to stay alive.

Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence shortlisted.
